LB Agar, Lennox L, also referred to as Luria-Bertani Agar, is a widely used medium in molecular biology applications for maintaining and cultivating recombinant strains of E. coli. LB Agar, Lennox contains half the amount of sodium chloride as that of the Miller formulation which allows for the researcher to be selective of the salt content when working with a specific strain. MOLTOX offers a wide variety of LB Agar, Lennox plates with the addition of several different types and concentrations of antibiotics to provide a more selective medium for recombinant cells with a specific antibiotic resistance. Used as an industry standard for maintaining and cultivating recombinant strains of E. coli and for the preparation of plasmid DNA, MOLTOX offers a large selection of LB Agars and Broths with plenty of added antibiotics to choose from for a more selective media. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

Lactobacilli MRS (LMRS) Agar supplemented with L-Cystine is a selective and non-differential medium used for the isolation, enumeration, and cultivation of Lactobacillus spp. and Leuconostoc spp.. Originally developed in 1960 by de Man, Rogosa & Sharpe, the medium is suitable for most lactic acid bacteria and is intended as a substitute for Tomato Juice Agar. Selectivity against Streptococci and Fungi is provided by ammonium citrate and sodium acetate. Used at low pH, ammonium citrate allows growth of Lactobacilli while inhibiting a number of other microorganisms. R2A Agar is a non-selective and non-differential medium used for the enumeration heterotrophic organisms from potable water. It is a low nutrient medium that is incubated at a lower temperature for a longer duration, which stimulates the growth of stressed and chlorine-tolerant bacteria. When compared with Tryptone Glucose Yeast Extract Agar or Plate Count Agar (Standard Methods Agar), R2A Agar reported improved recovery of stress and chlorine-tolerant bacteria from drinking water systems.
